The Fire Department takes great pride in its participation in various events that occur throughout the year. These events allow the firefighters to meet residents, talk about fire safety, show people our different types of equipment and its use.
Our schools provide firefighters with the most significant opportunities to talk with children and parents about fire safety. The firefighters will speak to over 1800 kindergarten through second-grade students by either visiting the classrooms or giving station tours.
Many times, firefighters are asked to attend events at local churches and community groups such as the Lions Club or the Chamber of Commerce. We also regularly visit daycare centers and senior centers.
