Fitness Activities

Advance Physical Therapy Strength and Balance
  • Advance Physical Therapy offers a free strength and balance class on the first and fourth Tuesday of every month at 11:30am.
Arthritis Exercise-Silver Sneakers Approved
  • The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program is a low-impact physical activity program proven to reduce pain and decrease stiffness. The routines include gentle range-of-motion exercises that are suitable for every fitness level.
  • Arthritis Exercise is offered on Tuesdays at 10:00am and 2:00pm, Thursdays at 10:00am

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga increases flexibility, strength, improves balance and coordination, reduces stress and pain, and improves sleep. Join Donna on Monday and Friday mornings at 9:30am. There is a $3.00 drop in per class.                                 


Line Dancing with Norma
  • High Beginner's Line Dancing -Norma offers a beginner's line dancing class on Thursdays at 12:00pm. Cost is $3.00 per class.
  • Intermediate Line Dancing - Norma offers an intermediate advance line dancing class on Mondays at 12:00pm. Cost is $3.00 per class.
  • Ultra Beginner Line Dancing- Norma offers an ultra beginner line dancing class on Thursdays at 1:30pm. Cost is $3.00 per class.
Maxwell Physical Therapy
  • Maxwell Physical Therapy offers two monthly programs at the center. On the second Wednesday of every month at 3:00pm Maxwell Physical Therapy discusses different educational topics. On the third Wednesday of every month at 3:00pm Maxwell Physical Therapy offers an upper and lower body strength class. 
Michigan State Extension Tai Chi Practice and Play
  • Tai Chi Practice and Play will be offered on Thursdays at 3:00pm beginning January 11. Please note Tai Chi Practice and Play is for those that have taken the introductory class.

Yoga

This class is perfect for the beginner yoga student. Basic postures are taught in a clear and concise manner with modifications being offered to meet your physical ability. With consistent practice, this class will increase your flexibility, endurance, strength and balance. Please bring a yoga mat and a  blanket to class. Dress in comfortable clothing that allows for movement. Appropriate for all levels but must be able to get down and up from the floor. Join Donna on Mondays and Fridays at 10:30am. There is an $8.00 drop in fee per class.         

Zumba Gold
  • Join Kimberly for an hour of fun and fitness Fridays at 1:00pm. Cost is $6.00 per class or you can purchase a 5 class punch card for only $25!

Educational Activities

Book Discussion
  • We have a wonderful book discussion group that meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month @10:00 A.M. Check the newsletter for the name of the book of the month.
Knitting Club
  • Join our knitting club every Thursdays from 8:00-11:30am. Come in and share our ideas, patterns, and projects. Please bring your own supplies. If you have yarn you are looking to donate, please consider our group!
Support Groups
  • The center has partnered with the Alzheimer's Association to offer a monthly Caregiver Support Group. The group meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 10:00am.
  • The center has partnered with The Medical Team to offer Grief Support Group once a month. The group meets on the first Monday of every month at 10:30am
  • The center has partnered with Family Service Agency to offer a monthly Visually Impaired Support Group. The group meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 10:00am
Watercolor Painting
  • Suzie Wirsing teaches a four-week class each month. Classes are held on Mondays from 9:30am-11:30am. Cost is $35.00 for the four-week session. 

Socialization

Card Games
  • Bridge - Meets on Mondays at 12:30 PM (you do not need a partner) and on Tuesdays at 12:00 PM (partner needed) Please sign up ahead of time by stopping by or calling the center. If you need a partner, call the center and we will try and accommodate you.
  • Euchre - Meets on Tuesdays at 12:30 PM and Thursdays at 12:30 PM. If you would like to bring a snack to share feel free to do so.
  • Poker - Meets on Fridays at 12:30 PM

Nutritional Services

Produce Pantry
The center has received a grand from Community Foundation of Greater Flint-Grand Blanc Fund to provide free fresh produce daily. The center partners with Flint Fresh for this program. Produce is available on a first-come-first serve basis. Each week we offer a wide variety of produce. 

Monthly Luncheon
The center partners with Brookdale Assisted Living and Memory Care to offer a free friendship luncheon on the third Tuesday of each month at 12:00pm. Reservations are due one week before.
